What can I say, if you are a local Oakland artist or sculptor, or if you have been to burning man in the last 10 years, you know about or have probably seen the frighteningly talented works of this local art collective.
I was fortunate to be at burning man in ’07 and ‘09 to see both the Steampunk Treehouse and the Raygun Gothic Rocketship, in all their glory. But really, the beauty of the work that 5TC creates is transportive. It feels like you have walked through a portal and into a mythic dreamscape, at the frayed edge fringey fabric of reality.
There are a ton of folks in the collective and in being a part of the maker community for the last 13 years, I've gotten to know a number of them, (and hopefully will be a part of the crew at some point). Always inspiring to meet people doing work that tells amazing stories, that brings the right kind of weirdos and dreamers together.
